The BC provincial government had an initiative underway to update government-run websites to follow a standard layout and format. I was employed by the Revenue Branch of Ministry of Forests to work on the transition for the branch’s public and internal websites. Some of the work had already been done, mostly on the public-facing site, less so on the internal site. Pages that had not been converted were inconsistent in layout and navigation, and content was often not in the right place, or was outdated or redundant.
In my time at Revenue Branch, I was able to get the internal site fully updated to the new standard page template, and finished up outstanding work on the public site. At the same time, I worked with numerous people within the branch to ensure that content on both sites was current and relevant, and remained so on an ongoing basis.
