The Year Behind, And The Year Ahead
Seeing as it’s New Year’s Eve, I thought it would be interesting to share some of the big things that happened this year, and what I expect (or hope) will happen in the year to come.
Adobe is working on the upcoming releases of their popular products – Photoshop, Illustrator, etc – and have recently shown off the icon set planned for these packages. I will be writing my opinion of these icons.
Using Firefox makes web development easier; this is in part due to the many useful extensions available to streamline the development process. Well, there’s a new one to toss on the pile.

Microsoft shows how to have IE6 and IE7 on the same machine
Microsoft has provided a method by which Windows users can have multiple versions of Internet Explorer on their machines.
Internet Explorer – the long-awaited update to Microsft’s web browser – has finally been released to the public. There is much discussion on the subject, from how it will affect the web browser market, to improvements made to the browser, and to things that still need working on. This post is my take on the subject.
I stumbled on a really neat-looking tool today: Markup Maker. It allows you to specify a nested set of section names for your webpage, and the script generates all the necessary markup for you. This could be a very useful timesaver when starting with a new page layout!

I recently wrote about building a simple data abstraction layer in .NET. I did much reading on the web before I developed the given code, and am now going to share some links to some of the more useful sites I found.
The last release of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer was version 6 in 2001, a full 5 years ago. But there is an upcoming release of IE7 that has users and developers crowing…for the most part.
